"He who opens the breach goes up before them: they break through and pass the gate, going out by it. Their king passes on before them, the Lord at their head."  Micah 2:13

Our women's conference this year titled "Breakthrough" starts on July 30th at 5pm and concludes on July 31st at 4pm! It's a two day, four session event with dinner and lunch  included for $25.

*Registration closes on Monday July 26th*

Over the course of four sessions we will take a deeper look into how Christ is the breaker described in Micah 2:13 and learn how to live our lives in view of that truth!

Stacey Olson

I am a U.P. native but have not lived in the area since 1995. I have come back to visit almost every summer since I left. This yearly trip grounds my soul. I marvel at how faithful God has been even though I haven’t always been faithful. God has been good to me in spite of many bad decisions that litter my past.

The seeds that were planted in the soil of my heart and mind took many decades to develop strong roots. I tend to take the long way around and if there is a hard way to do something I’m probably the one doing it. I can see now that God was working in me all along the way and I’m thankful that he is long suffering.

My life began to bear good fruit a few years ago when I finally stopped living with one foot in the world and one foot in the church. I fully surrendered my addictions, my marriage, my kids, my dreams. I came to the end of myself.

My passion in life now is equipping women to do what God has called them to and to share Christ with those who don’t know him.

Mary Kangas

I live in Houghton, MI and serve with my husband, pastor Jon Kangas of Hope Fellowship Church. We have four children, Alison, Macy, Isaac, and Lily. This year our daughter Macy married Josh and moved to Washington State.

Growing up unchurched, I was surprised when rocking my first newborn and could hear a song singing "holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come". This began a journey of seeking, loving, and trusting God. Along the twisting, turning, and narrow path have come many lessons. transitioning from the business world for both my husband and I into the pastorate. My desire and prayer is that the next generation go higher and deeper than I have ever experienced and that our spiritual ceiling be the next generation's floor.

My husband Jim and I moved to Marquette for a job change after living in Hancock for the previous 13 years. I have 3 step-children, Jermey and Nathan (Jim's sons), and Becky (my late husband's daughter). Becky has blessed me with three grandsons who live in Minnesota.

I gave my life to Christ when i was 8 years old at a Good News meeting. After a time of doing life my own way, I was captured by the love of Christ and surrendered my will to His. I was a missionary youth worker for 10 years in Bemidji, MN working with troubled youth. At Hope Fellowship, I was active treaching Sunday School and involved in the Women's Ministry. I taught 2nd-5th grade Sunday school for 4 years at Superior Christian Church and continue to minister to women through weekly Bible studies.

My favorite verse these days is Hebrews 10:23 which reads "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful".
